Our Story

Ground Flor is a little idea I dreamt up, that has now found its home in our little window café. Rooted in my love for food, flowers, and friendship, it’s about how thoughtful details and share experiences can brighten even the most mundane of days.

I started baking focaccia in 2023 when we moved into our new home. It quickly became my go-to party trick because it’s the easiest thing to make and people can’t get enough of it. With the perfect balance of crisp and fluffy, it’s always a crowd pleaser. I’ve even been told that it surpasses the bakery that claims to have “the best focaccia in San Francisco”… but we won’t name names.

I picked up floral arranging in 2022 when a friend invited me to a class at a dahlia farm outside San Francisco. I learned so much in just one class that my husband, Garrett, started bringing me flowers every weekend so I could keep practicing. That same friend and I run an event planning company called Dinnerseve, where floral arrangements are a signature touch at all our events.

Coffee is the final layer. Garrett makes me a cup every morning (he has to — it was one of his wedding vows!) and that daily ritual has became something sacred and grounding. At Ground Flor, we bring all these elements together: a fresh loaf, a bright bundle, and a just-right cup. It’s a little window into what brings us joy, and now, we get to share it with you.
